The "József GRUBER' statue has been put up on the 11th November, 2002 (30 years anniversary of Gruber's death), as a tribute to the memory of our former Head of Department, also Dean of the Faculty, and Rector of the University).

Approaching the Department

via public transport in Budapest:
Suggested best way via tram: closest station: "Bertalan Lajos utca" (on the Bartók Béla street):
Tram Nr 18, 19, 47, or 49: "Bertalan Lajos utca" station (Bartók Béla street, between stations "Gellért tér" and "Móricz Zs. körtér" appr. 500 meters)

Other:
Tram Nr 4, 6: till "Petõfi Bridge, Buda side" station (through "Goldmann György " square, and through the south side of the BUTE)
Bus Nr 12: till "Petõfi Bridge, Budai hídfõ" station (through "Goldmann György " square, and through the south side of the BUTE)

Bus Nr 7, 7A, 86: till the "Szent Gellért square" station (near "Freedom Bridge" (Szabadság híd), Buda side, through BUTE park)

From the main trainstations:
1) DÉLI: Tram Nr 18 till "Bertalan Lajos utca" station (Bartók Béla street, between stations "Gellért tér" and "Móricz Zs. körtér" appr. 500 meters)

2) KELENFÖLDI: You can get off the train 10 minutes earlier before it enters the DÉLI train station. Then take the tram Nr 19, 49 till the " Bertalan Lajos utca" station (Bartók Béla street, between stations "Gellért tér" and "Móricz Zs. körtér", then walk appr. 500 meters towards the Danube)
3) KELETI: via metro line "red" till the "Blaha Lujza square" station, then take tram Nr. 4 or 6 till "Petõfi Bridge, Buda side" station; or Bus Nr 7, 7A till the"Gellért square" station
4) NYUGATI: take tram Nr.4 or 6 till "Petõfi Bridge, Buda side" station (then through the "Goldmann György square" and throught Unievrsity area till the Bertalan Lajos crossing.)

From the Ferihegy Airport -BUDAPEST:
Take the bus Nr.93 till "Kõbánya-Kispest" metro station, then take the metro "blue" line till the "Ferenc körút" station, then take tram Nr 4 or 6 till the "Petõfi Bridge, Buda side" station (or an easy way to take any AIRPORT MINIBUS service)

From any motorways by car:
M1 (E60, E75), M7 (E71): M1-M7 - Budaörsi út - Nagyszõlõs u. - Bocskai út - Október 23. u. - Irinyi József u. - Mûegyetem rakpart
M3 (E71): M3 - Hungária körút - Könyves Kálmán körút - Lágymányosi híd - Pázmány Péter sétány - Mûegyetem rakpart
M5 (E75): M5 - Nagykõrösi út - Gyáli út - Könyves Kálmán körút - Lágymányosi híd - Pázmány Péter sétány - Mûegyetem rakpart

Because of the penalty of missing parking ticket between 8-18h, or the public security it is highly suggested to find a parking place in front of the BME main central building (named "K" building), on the quayside free parking place.
BUT: it is highly suggested for our guests arriving by car to use the parking place INSIDE the University. It is not free for non-university members, but for a few days long visit we can offer parking card to our guests.
